  • Are you Really a Nazi?

Making it big in la-la land

"Excuse me. Why are you sitting so close to me?"

    "Huh?"

"I said why are you sitting so close to me. I'm trying to write you know."

    "Oh, what are you writing?"

"Just a story about running into someone that sat too close to me on the train... like you!"

"Hey! You're a writer and you're writing about me! At least let me introduce myself. Here's my card. Please give me credit if you ever publish that story."

"I'm sorry. I don't need your card. I shouldn't even know what your name is. You're supposed to be a total stranger in this story."

"Well, at least take this card. Maybe you could send me a copy of the story when it's published."

"I can't do that. You're supposed to be an utter and complete stranger."

"Well, let's do this. I'll put my name and address in this envelope, seal it, and you can get someone else to mail a copy of it to me when it comes out. I'll even put some money in the envelope for postage."

"Well... I guess that would be OK. Thanks."

I came home that night and opened the sealed envelope. Two thousand yen and a business card. Tetsuo Kimura. Computer programmer. I threw the card and the envelope in the trash and kept the two thousand yen. I make so much money that way.
